Town of Lillooet

You enter the town of Lillooet at the end of June. The town is bustling with excitement and people, and the power of gold is the what caused it to prosper. There are mining supplies and equipment for sale, and the town also had a doctor.

Finding Land

You hear that the land near here is suitable for a ranch. Once you find a spot, you can register your claim here in Lillooet. With a full stock of supplies, you are headed to the north east, camping along way until you arrived at Captain Martley's. He was away however Mrs. Martley provided a meal and information about the what to expect from the harsh winter climate.

Camel Looking for the perfect spot of land you continue to Hat Creek and Loon Lake. A few kilometres outside Loon Lake you encountered some camels. Your horse is tremendously frightened by the way they look, and the way they smell. Once the horse has calmed down, you continue on through Loon Lake, along the Bounaparte river, to a place called Gavin's Creek. As far as you can see, all the good land past Gavin's Creek is taken, so it's a good idea to stop and think about your choices.

Field at Ashcroft

There was land you passed just before Gavin's Creek that had a stream to supply water, and would provide good land for cattle grazing. Should you go back and mark out the territory, or continue further to find another piece of land?
