118 Mile House
John Felker
When he was married in 1884, John Deddrick Felker, usually known as "Dick," settled at 118 Mile. After the death of his wife, Sophia O'Neil, he married Isobel Gauld and with her raised two boys and five girls. The eldest son, George (known as "Bordy"), took over the operation of the roadhouse in his late teens and went on to become one of the Cariboo's most successful landowners.
